Top 10 Places to Visit in Towcester

Our little online business is based in the market town of Towcester – pronounced “Toh-ster” and the same way you say Toaster!
I moved here with my husband 18 years ago and we have raised our family in this gorgeous little town.
If you fancy a visit here are our top 10 favourite things to do and places to go.

1. The Watermeadows
This beautiful park used to be part of the Easton Neston Estate and was bought by the Towcester town council and is a lovely place to visit. It has an adventure playground for little ones and picnic benches and half of it has accessible pathways for buggies and wheelchairs. I love to walk my dog here especially in the early morning, you can see him in the photo.
2. Enjoy Brunch at Ten Hands Cafe bar
A gorgeous multi award winning independent café serving breakfast, pancakes and a whole section of all day egg dishes plus a great lunch menu and cakes. They have a little courtyard to sit outside if the weather is nice.
Ten hands is “hands down” the best place for breakfast or lunch. (see what we did there!).
3. Climb Bury Mount
This ancient Norman motte offers panoramic views over town. Follow the winding path and learn about Towcester’s medieval history from the plaques along the way.
4. Enjoy a Pie and pint at
the plough inn
Always a warm welcome from Ed and his team at the plough, a traditional pub in the heart of the town. They have a unique food offering of gorgeous handmade pies in all flavours so there is something for everyone. I can also highly recommend the Wednesday quiz nights!

5. Visit st lawrence church
If old buildings are your thing then
St Lawrence Church is the place for you.
This stunning Grade I-listed church dates back to the 12th century. Look up at the intricate vaulted ceiling and take a moment to soak in the peace.

7. Visit Bell Plantation
Just on the edge of Towcester town is Bell Plantation Garden centre. It has a Café, play barn, all the plants you could ever want and an absolutely beautiful shop that sells locally produced food, furniture, gifts and homewares.

8. Check out Towcester Museum
Towcester Museum comes to life through three interactive exhibitions taking you on a ‘journey through time’ spanning 5,000 years of Towcester’s history from the stone age to the present day. They also have a gift shop!


9. Enjoy dinner at DNA
David and Alberto offer a warm welcome at this lovely Bar and grill in the heart of Towcester serving the most delicious steaks and burgers.
